Nanoparticles

Nanoparticles are used as UV-filters or preservatives.  AquaCopia contains beeswax which is naturally antimicrobial as are grapeseed oil and geranium oil.

We don’t add UV filters to AquaCopia as sometimes the cons of these ingredients outweigh the pros so we let you decide when you need sunscreen (generally only when the UV index is 3 or above). We also believe a small amount of exposure to vitamin D from sunlight is important for your skin.

Cyclic silicones

These are synthetic silicones add to skincare to improve it’s texture and enhance hydration although they have been linked to endocrine system disruptions. Aquacopia already contains naturally Hydrating Pro Vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid and is sufficiently blended into a beautiful thick whipped consistency.

Homosalate and Benzophenone

Used as UV filters (see nano particles above)

Parabens, MIT,  BHA and B

Parabens are synthetic chemicals that are used as preservatives in cosmetic products but are potentially carcinogenic and endocrine disrupting.  AquaCopia contains beeswax which is naturally antimicrobial as are  grapeseed oil and geranium oil. We also use distilled water as the distillation process removes bacteria, contaminants and minerals and therefore prevents cream from going 'off'.

Synthetic fragrances

Aquacopia gets its lovely aroma from the combination of essential oils we use for their various healing and moisturising properties, the beautiful aroma was a coincidental blessing which we don’t feel we need to mess with.
